Windows 10
Anti Virus Protection
My antivirus protection app keeps notifying me that it does not cover Windows 10 and I need to buy a newer version that does. My existing protection does not end for several months and I do not have the cash right now to buy the new version.
I started investigating and found out that Windows 10, unlike previous versions, has built in protection. It is called Windows Defender. When you start up Windows 10 for the first time, Windows Defender is on and working to protect your PC by scanning for malicious software. Windows Defender uses real-time protection to scan everything you download or run on your PC.
However, it will turn itself off if you install another antivirus app or have one already loaded on your PC. Once my existing protection expires or if I cancel it, Windows Defender will automatically come on. Windows Firewall is another protection that is built right in that filters info coming into your PC from the Internet, blocking potentially harmful programs.
So I do not have to buy anything else. Thought you might like to know this.
