Trails of Life

I am going to have to buy a new laptop. Mine was bought almost 4 1/2 years ago and it only has 2G. It takes more than that to  open anything like my email, Facebook, or this web page. Luckily there is a computer room on the 4th floor of the apartment. I am using that today.

But as usual I am concerned about the money it will cost. My rent has gone up 3 times since I signed a new lease in April (from 500 to 671)., and yes, there is a small hidden clause that says they can raise it anytime they want. A neighbor's daughter took the lease to an attorney and he found that hidden clause.

It upsets me quite a bit, since millionaires own this place, and I doubt they need the income. The management company has apartments all over the US and I doubt they need the money, either. So unless you are fortunate to have Section 8, which is based on your income, you have  to make a good deal of money to live here.

I will probably be looking for another state to live in when this lease is up. Many other Southern states have nice apartments that are not as expensive as coastal Florida and Alabama. That means another move. It will be a short one, farther north and away from the beach. That is OK, though because I have not been to the beach at all this year. It costs money for gas to get there and then Pensacola Beach now has a fee you must pay to enter.  I could go all the way down to the next town and come back that way, but I would be using a lot of extra gas. I cannot win.

So dear friends, it looks like another move is in my future. I have to start saving now to pay for it. Sigh.
