I laid it on pretty thick in my letter to the state, playing up my age and the frustration with being cold. Within days of receiving my letter, they showed up. Yes, two representatives with the hand held thermometers in hand showed up. The manager was not even here so the girl covering the office had to show them around and receive whatever reprimand they gave, because I had heat within a day.
The maintenance manager told me that the "owners" (millionaires like our President) had a warranty on the compressor outside and had to wait until "someone" could order it.
Now, when I report something wrong in my apartment, someone comes to check and fix it pretty soon. My point is that old adage, "The squeaky wheel, gets the oil," is really true. Speak up my friends, no matter what your age, for your rights.
"Baby It is cold outside." Baby, it is warm in my apartment!
