All of us at a very young age learn the meaning of the word, “no.” Parents start saying “no” to their young ones as soon as they are able to get into things, and soon the young ones start saying “no” to everything. They learn this word before others, many times. And they know what it means.
How then, is it that many young male children grow up to disregard this word when having sexual encounters with young women? They know what the word means, but they continue “pushing” to get their way with young women. They hear “no” and push for sex anyway – it’s called RAPE when a woman says “no.” And the young men know this, but some still do it.
In my opinion, rape is not really about sex but about Power. Men who rape strangers or the elderly do not have sexual desire – they just want to have power over the women and hurt them. They cease to be human and become animals.
The four young men who gang raped an unconscious young woman in Panama City did not want sex. These young men were decent looking college students. Drugs and alcohol were flowing and I am sure there were many young women who would have consented to sex with one of them. – but not all four of them. So what is going on?
This was about degrading the woman and about power over her. These young men took away the young woman’s right to say “no.” by drugging her. They fixed it so she could not even fight back. What cowards! What animals! What totally repulsive young men. And the crowd around them was not any better. They watched – both young men and women just watched and did nothing about it. I find this appalling!
These men and all men who rape deserve, in my opinion, to be sent to a jail where other animals live (their own kind). Let them experience the degradation, pain, fear, and every other emotion a raped woman has experienced. I think it is a fitting punishment for animals like this. Maybe fear of this type of incarceration will give “wanna be’s” a moment of thought before acting. Something has to be done.
