Happy New Year

I have spent the last week “thinking” about the year that just ended, as I posted yesterday.  I do not want to repeat it. I have really been thinking about what I can do to make my life better, again. Last year was injury and recuperation. This year is going to be “living.”
I plan generally right now to get stronger physically and start doing what I moved here to do – explore. For example, a short hour’s drive away in Mobile is an exhibit on Genghis Khan. The is my first goal. To go there. It is not a bad drive, so I need to practice one hour of driving time. A trip to Destin and the outlet malls will be good practice. I can practice my walking skills and strengthen my legs there, too..
I am also going back to the beach. I love it in winter. Beachcombing there in winter is usually rewarding. Also, it gives me a peace that I cannot adequately describe.
And I am going to start getting out into the world.  I am checking to see if new senior single groups have developed that focus on going out to dinner. I did belong to one, but it is more marrieds and couples than singles now. But if that is the only senior one there is, I will go there.
I have decided to stop moving until I cannot afford this apartment (they keep raising the rent). Since I am staying “put” for a while, I am going to furnish the way I want it. Now, I have a lot of pieces that I will keep that friends and neighbors have given me (I gave up all of my things in storage in NC recently). But I am going to buy some new things, too.
So, I am going to say goodbye to injury and my recent past, and say hello to a new future, filled with travel, new friends, new home surroundings, and the BEACH.
Hopefully the “ole” Peggy will return, maybe a little older and a little less physically healthy, but Peggy, through and through.
