A Change of Plans

I have decided to hang up my "traveling shoes" for a while, (maybe even permanently) as far as moving to a new location is concerned. I am going to stay in Pensacola a while longer or maybe even permanently. I decided to stay mainly because I have made some dear friends here.

I also am not getting any younger so moving to a new city is not something I really need to do. I have good doctors here, reasonable rent, good grocery prices, a wonderful Gulf beach, and a lot of other reasons seniors retire here.

To satisfy my need for discovering new places I am going to substitute moving away with moving into a new place - house, duplex, or apartment. I also have remembered that the reason I moved here is that Pensacola is a good location to plan a trip. I am close, within a day's drive, to many new places and Pensacola  has a very nice airport. Trips to new places are still possible. But my home will remain constant.

I am now searching for a new residence - would really like to rent a small house, and there are some in my price range. So I will begin a new adventure, here, in Pensacola. And I will have people who care about me already in place. I think this is a great idea.

The End of a Bad Time

I am finally coming to the end of a "bad time" in my life. Unfortunately, I have had a few over the 70 years of my life, so I always remain hopeful for the end to come. I guess you can call me an optimist, but I am sure the new friends I have made, recently do not know this. Some of the new ones have only known me a short time and do not know my history of shooting myself in my foot, repeatedly.

I read a description of a Sagittarius on Facebook and it was pretty right one. It said I always "leap" into something without fully knowing what will happen. Pretty much true, as my old friends know. Note old friends, my marriages.

Now that October is on its way to Halloween, I am "picking up" a little. I love Halloween as much as a child does. It is a time to Pretend you are someone else, or something else. It is a time when some adults get to pretend again and have fun like a child - innocent belief. That is me.

Next comes Thanksgiving and Christmas and even though I am now alone, I celebrate by cooking for both events, much as I would do for the loved ones of long ago. I always invite anyone who has nowhere to go on these holidays and sometimes I have people who take me up on the offer. If not, I have a lot food left over, but I am "fixed up" with meals for a long time after. (I just have to heat up and NOT COOK.)

It is a given that the holidays are coming, and I plan to get in the "party" mood. And I probably will be posting more on my blog since I will be living my life, such as it is, again. I thank those of you who have been with me through this and many of you who have been "along for ride" since I started this website.

See you next post.
