It has not cooled down at all this October so getting out to do things in a car that is already hot and slow to cool down is not something I have been doing. I am, however, going to start back attending a senior singles dinner group in the next few weeks. I would go to the next one but it is a bit above my price range.
I also have a new dog - I adopted a neighbor's older Yorkie. He is almost 10. He has brought back many memories of my little Puddin, that I had years ago. Yorkies can make you laugh. They have such unique personalities.
I am also hoping to get out and join more activities. A lot of them take the summer off because people leave and tourists arrive. It is more expensive when the tourists are here, too.
I gave up my storage facility because I was spending so much on my whole life of belongings and was not able to go get them. It would have cost so much (1000 miles away) to get them. So now I get to try to buy new "things" for my apartment. When I moved here I "inherited" some furniture from the 1960's from a very old resident who died. I call it my "dead lady" furniture. I do not mean to be disrespectful, but I have to explain why it is the style it is.
I realized that I have to hang up my travelling shoes for a while if not permanently. Because of that realization, I decided I would like to have furniture that reflects me. So this old stuff is going piece by piece.
BUT I hope my physical abilities improve so I can travel once again-maybe not to move, since Pensacola is centrally located between New Orleans and the East Coast. And I can get to new places in a fairly short time.
